Review: The Newly Opened Grandmama’s Cafe at Lower Parel

Yes, the Grandmama’s Cafe is now open at Kamala Mills, Lower Parel. We loved their cosy outlet at Dadar and couldn’t contain our excitement when it came into our neighborhood. So on Women’s Day, we went there for lunch and totally loved it.

The decor is very chic and gives you the feel of a little French home. The entire space is decked in white furniture; it just looks like a fairy tale in action. The attention to detail is immaculate. The little verandah has a mini-garden nestled in it. It sure does make you feel like you are entering a fairy tale home.

We were a bunch of 12 girls who walked into the cafe for lunch, on Women’s Day. We couldn’t stop with our ‘ooohs and aahs’.

The Parmesan Potato Gnocchi

The few things we loved were their Mac and Cheese, Chicken Wings, Potato Gnocchi, Grandmama’s Special Vegetarian Pizza and the Beef Pizza. All of them finger-licking good.

Mushroom on Toast

And though we thought the quantity was less we still give them points for presentation and taste.

Many of us chose to sip on some beverages and from what I hear they were pretty impressive too. While I chose to stay away from drinks I did try the Hot Chocolate, which looked totally divine. This one was literally a mug full of hot molten chocolate that can give you a choco high. A must try and surely one of our most recommended non-alcoholic beverages.

The Grandmama’s Special Pizza

The entrance of this cafe flaunts a vintage car, which perfectly adds to the old-world charm and while we were all in a playful mood we went ahead and clicked some really nice pics too (great photo op).

Our recommendations: The Hot Chocolate is a must try. Also, bite into their mushroom on toast, which we loved.

The Hot Chocolate

Disappointment: The portions are very little and would probably suffice only one person.
